Tamarindo Beach is one of the most popular beach destinations in Costa Rica. It is a great place for nature and beach lovers as it encompasses miles of stunning beaches with golden sand, warm water, tide pools and exuberant tropical backgrounds. Tamarindo is a great base for exciting tours and activities. Some of the tours available on the water are scuba diving, boating, sunset sailing, and kayaking. From there the visitor can also take most of the tours available in the Guanacaste area which includes: Rincon de la Vieja National Park, Canopy, Corobici River Float, Rafting at Colorado River, a day tour to Granada Nicaragua among others. Due to its constant waves, it is also one of the favorite places for surfers. North of Tamarindo, Las Baulas Marine National park protects the world’s largest visitation of nesting Giant Leatherback Turtles. The adjacent Tamarindo Wildlife refuge, a mangrove estuary, is also great for bird watching.
